Nicola Dench

Nicola Dench is well known for her mono-printed tiles of Wellington and surrounds as well as images celebrating her love of the coast. Dench also creates an expansive variety of work based around socio-political themes, never shy of tackling difficult subject matter.

Dench has been selected for emerging ceramic artist awards as well as other National award exhibitions where she has received acclaim. Her work is held in private collections throughout New Zealand and overseas. Dench moved to Papamoa two years ago after 10 years as a fulltime ceramic artist working and teaching ceramics at her studio in Wellingon.

Recently graduating with the New Zealand Diploma of Art and Design Dench is making the transition back to full time immersion in ceramics.
