Training
During the setup period you will be required to attend a week for in-depth training session in Tauranga. This session can be extended if required. (It will be included in your Franchise fee)
During this week we will cover all aspects of both business and technical parts of running pottery workshops. These sessions will be taken by owners Penny Henderson and Ray Aucott and other tutors.
You DO NOT NEED to be a potter to own a Franchise of the Pottery Studio. If you have knowledge of pottery or art already this will be a good advantage, but it is not necessary as we can train you to operate workshops including design techniques and technical skills. If you are a complete beginner but are willing to have the business accruement and have the personality to succeed you will do well and have a great lifestyle. Part of the week will take in problem solving operations from start to finish.
The Pottery Studio will be with you all the way. From joining through setup and operation and Ray and Penny will be in the background if needed.

Glazing and Firing
Glazing, loading the kiln and firing of the workshop pieces is critical. One day of your training week this will be covered. The technical aspect is critical for your customers work as they will want to see and be excited at seeing their finished work. You will learn; how to glaze pieces, load and unload the kiln, and every detail in-between. You will also learn how to trouble shoot various issues that may arise such as glaze and kiln issues.
