School Holiday Programme

School Holiday Programme

School Holidays means a school holiday workshop programme at the Pottery Studio

Workshops are 4 days a week, Tuesday to Friday, at 10am and 1pm. The workshops last 2 hours. Concentration for children beyond 2 hours is a big ask so we do not offer full day workshops for school holidays.

Children can choose between 2 options on the school holiday programme.

Option 1 – a free make. They can make whatever they wish. This is popular for children who have a clear idea of what they wish to make in clay.

Option 2 – structured programme. Each workshop, the tutor will demonstrate a different technique or item to make. The participants then follow the instruction and can put their own twist on the theme or technique of the day. This is great for children who have worked in clay and are wanting to learn more about correct techniques and clay behaviour.

programme options:

pocket pet and whistles

cups / bowls.

tealights / fairy houses

houses and boxes

gnomes, dragons and fairies

During the workshops, participants will make, tidy and colour their creations. We then dry, fire and clear glaze the creations after the two hour workshop session. This completion process takes approximately 3 weeks after which they can return to the studio with a photo of the work to be collected, or the studio can pack and post (additional charge) to the location of your choice. We need a photo or the work and address to provide this service.
